Do you FEEL good – or not?

I felt so good during my meditation, and while appreciating the nature the other day. Now, I feel like crap.

What happened?  Blame the Doppler Effect…

Ever notice that the sound of an approaching police or ambulance siren seems to be higher as it approaches you, and then sounds lower as it (thankfully) continues past you? It even has a different shrill sound as it passes right by you.  Why? The siren stayed the same didn’t it?

The Answer – (uh oh, it’s The “F” word again) – Frequency.  When you “hear” a siren approaching, you are merely translating wavelengths of energy and it is only your translation of the moving siren frequencies that creates the differences in sound.

Thanks to an Austrian physicist Christian Doppler in 1842, we now know it (Oh the rights of discovery!) – as the Doppler Effect. Yes, it is the same Doppler effect that is used in weather prediction, police radar, military sonar, the study of blood flow, ultra-sound examinations, astronomy, and used in food foraging abilities in some bats.

See, Doppler explained it this way. There is a “difference between the observed frequency and the emitted frequency of a wave”.   He went on to note that “the frequency is only translated as identical to the source at the instant it passes by.”  

STOP and re-read that last sentence from 172 years ago.

So, the Frequency you Experience, depends upon your Distance, aka spatial resistance, to the Source (siren) of the Energy. We label this frequency experience in response to a siren as the “sense of hearing“.  It sounds different. 

We label the Frequency Experience in response to a Higher Energy Source – pick your own label – as Emotions.  It feels different.

It is only our perception of this Higher Energy Source that changes.  As you Meditate, or Love, or Appreciate, or as Joseph Campbell said “Follow your Bliss” – you are closer to the Source and you FEEL more like the actual Frequency that Exists.

As spatial differences increase between you and the Source of All Frequencies, your translation FEELS less like the Source’s actual Frequency.  aka…You feel like crap.

The Concentrated, Pure, ALL THAT IS, Source Energy will sound, look, feel, (whatever sensory Label you want to use) different to you, dependent upon “where” YOU focus YOURSELF in this instant. Period.

What you Hear or Feel depends upon “where” YOU are.


Why your Protection is your biggest Weakness.

Pop a balloon, just for fun.  Does the air go rushing out or in? Remember the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics?  (“Mikey, of course we do. I’m even wearing my “I Love Thermodynamics” t-shirt today!” –  You guys are Awesome!)  Anyway, the 2nd Law says that energy will become more disordered (entropy increases) as time increases.

It’s why the air rushes OUT of the balloon’s confined space into a wider area. It’s why a car doesn’t instantly arise from the dirt in your yard, but rather it naturally falls apart from the un-natural order we arranged for those atoms. Energy spreads out, not in! 

We arrange air molecules or materials to blow up a balloon or make a car, using Pressure. YOU feel that same pressure when You are arranged by an outside Force, right? Might be your boss, family or friends, or just your own mind. Some people feel the Pressure when others don’t. If you feel constricted or tight or controlled, THAT’s what you are feeling, the resistance to your Energy Flowing in a natural Outward state. The separation from that connection to an open Flow outward can be felt in many ways.

  2. The Bond, by Lynne McTaggert points out that “An enormous body of research reveals that the root of stress and ultimately Illness is a sense of Isolation”.
  3. The Biology of Belief, by Bruce Lipton shows “a sustained protection response inhibits the creation of life-sustaining energy. The longer you stay in protection, the more you compromise your growth….and chronic inhibition of growth mechanisms severely compromise your vitality.”

If you feel any of this, take a look inside. What response is creating your uncomfortable or stressful or unhappy stifling of your Energy, your Greatness, your Vitality?

Personally, I felt my own protection mode in the form of Negativity and Sarcasm. Those were my biggest self-imposed pressures against my own outward Energy flow. I had to learn that Negativity always pointed inward, trying to protect myself more. I was the one making the walls in life so tight around me.  

One of the easiest things to do if you’re feeling tight or self-protected, is to do something for someone else. Look outward. Know that you can at least help someone else smile today! When you make someone else smile, it pulls you Outward. It breaks your self-imposed walls.

A second method for easily crushing your own inward and isolating focus is to use Humor. NOT sarcasm, NOT being the cynic, but just good old fashioned humor however you want to experience it. Watch it, read it, throw some corny stuff out there, just look for it and enjoy it.  Humor is a force that pulls you outward, even if briefly, it gets a Momentum going.

Allow some dis-order. Expansion already exists. Now, you just have to allow it.  Let it Flow. Now go get those “I love Thermodynamics” T-shirts on! 🙂  Be Happy and Feel Vibrant again.
